April Health Tip
Three pillars of health are nutrition, physical exercise and sleep. Nutrition supports the body's function and energy levels. Exercise enhances physical strength and mobility. Adequate sleep (7-9 hours for adults) is essential for overall health, serving as a critical period for brain restoration, memory consolidation and physical repair. It strengthens the immune system and reduces the risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Find ways to relax before bedtime each night, go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, and exercise each day but not within 3 hours of your bedtime. Together these pillars create a strong foundation for a healthy and active life!

It is beneficial to digestive health, weight management, cardiovascular health, blood sugar control and enhanced nutrient absorption. While the recommended daily intake of dietary fiber varies depending on age, sex and activity level, generally adults should aim for 25-30 grams of fiber in their diet per day. Good sources include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts and seeds."
July Health Tip
"Hydration is important as we age! The sensation of thirst diminishes and seniors are less likely to realize when they are thirsty. Water and other beverages, fruits and vegetables are great options to help keep your body hydrated."
